Analyze a connected region

One explicit analysis downloads a connected 2×2 block of 512px Mapterhorn elevation tiles at zoom 13 by default (1,024×1,024 cells). Panning does not change or rerun it.

Native breaching requires the local Folia helper. Filling runs entirely in the browser.

Layer

Stream threshold (upstream cells) TWI slope floor · degrees

Specific contributing area = upstream cell count × cell width. TWI uses the slope floor; stream-power index is a geometry proxy, not watts. HAND follows conditioned routes but measures height on the original DEM. Unsupported cells are transparent.

Observer visibility

Click inside the analyzed region to set the observer. Uses the same LOS kernel as the Folia engine.

No observer selected.

Solar, shelter and local dominance

Explicit point probe on the original DEM. Local 32-bin horizons; 48 midpoint samples over the selected UTC day. Fluxes are a constant daytime scenario, not weather observations.

Vector contour export

Actual marching-squares line segments on the original DEM. Export retains the source grid and finite-region boundary; segments are not stitched into continuous contours.

Contour interval · m

Up to 32 contour levels per export.

Paths leaving the outlined 2×2 area are marked as boundary-truncated outlets. Closed interior flats drain to one deterministic interior terminal. Terminal location is separate from catchment completeness: an outlet group that touches the analysis edge may miss incoming outside flow. These local catchments do not establish downstream terrain beyond the outline.
